How to download album cover art from Spotify
To download album cover art from Spotify, open the track or album in Spotify, click the three-dot menu and choose Share, then Copy link. Paste that link into CoverHoard and download the cover. Spotify serves its own artwork at a maximum of 640×640 pixels, so CoverHoard matches the release against Apple Music’s catalogue instead, where the same cover is usually available at 3000×3000 or larger.

Copy the Spotify link
In the desktop or mobile app, tap the three-dot menu on the track, album or playlist and choose Share, then Copy link. On the web player you can copy the URL straight from the address bar. Any spotify.com link works — track, album or playlist.

Paste it into CoverHoard
Paste the link into the search box on the homepage and press Search. The release is identified and the cover appears, along with the artist and album name so you can confirm it matched the right record.

Click Download Image. The file saves as a JPEG named after the artist and album, at the highest resolution available for that release.
Why not just right-click the image in Spotify?
Spotify’s web player serves artwork at 640×640 pixels at most, and the desktop app renders it smaller still. Saving directly from either gives you an image that looks soft the moment it is used as anything larger than a thumbnail.
That resolution is fine for a phone screen and wrong for almost everything else: a music library browsed on a TV, a print, or artwork embedded in files you intend to keep. Taking a screenshot is worse again, because you capture whatever your display was showing rather than the source image.
What about playlist covers?
Playlist covers made by Spotify — the mosaic of four albums — exist only on Spotify and have no catalogue equivalent, so the best available version is Spotify’s own 640×640 image.
Custom playlist covers uploaded by a user are capped by Spotify at the same size. If the playlist artwork is actually a single album cover, search for that album by name instead and you will get the full-resolution version.
Common questions
Is downloading album cover art from Spotify legal?
Album artwork is copyrighted by the label or artist. Downloading a cover for personal use — tagging your own music files, or a library only you can see — is normal practice and what most people do it for. Republishing it, selling it, or using it on merchandise is not, and no downloader changes that.
Do I need a Spotify account or a Premium subscription?
No. CoverHoard reads only the public metadata for the link you paste. You are never asked to sign in to Spotify or to CoverHoard.
Why does the artist name sometimes look slightly different?
The cover is sourced from Apple Music’s catalogue, where a release may be credited slightly differently — a featured artist listed separately, or a regional edition. The artwork is the same; only the credit string differs.
